At Evangelical Church Habitation of God (ECHG), ministry does not end at the pulpit. Our calling is to embody the love of Christ in both word and action, extending beyond church walls to meet the real needs of people in Bulenga. Through the Community Transformation Ministry, we witness God’s light shining not only into the lives of believers, but into the wider community—building unity, hope, and dignity.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)
1. Women’s Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA)

One of the transformative projects under this ministry is the Women’s VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Association), led faithfully by Ms. Angel Liziki. This initiative brings together around two dozen women—members of ECHG, women from neighboring born-again churches, Catholics, Muslims, and even those with no religious affiliation.
This inclusivity reflects the Gospel’s power to unite across differences for the good of all. Here, women pool resources, save together, and support one another in building sustainable livelihoods.
As Scripture reminds us:
“She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.” (Proverbs 31:16)
Through the VSLA, women are empowered economically, becoming pillars of strength in their households and examples of stewardship in their community.
2. Fighting Malnutrition Through Nutrition Education & Farming
In addition to financial empowerment, most women in the VSLA—alongside other young ladies from the community—are actively engaged in a second vital project: fighting malnutrition.
Together, they cultivate vegetables and learn how to prepare nutritious meals for infants, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. They are trained in making balanced porridge mixtures that include cereals, grains like soy, and nutrient-rich ingredients such as fish and mushroom flours. These meals support the healthy development of children and mothers alike.

This project is not limited to members of ECHG—the food and knowledge are shared freely with neighbors and friends, extending Christ’s compassion to the whole Bulenga community.

“Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” (Isaiah 58:7)
Here, faith comes alive in the kitchen gardens and cooking pots, as mothers learn together, support one another, and nourish their children for a brighter future.
Transforming Bulenga Through Christ’s Love
These two projects—economic empowerment and nutritional health—are only the beginning of what God is doing through the Community Transformation Ministry at ECHG. By opening doors to women of different faiths and backgrounds, the church has become a center of unity in Bulenga, showing that the Kingdom of God is not about boundaries, but about love in action.
As the Apostle Paul encourages us:
“Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4)
This is the heartbeat of ECHG in Bulenga: a church that does not only preach the Word but also lives it out—empowering women, nurturing children, and transforming communities through Christ’s love.
✨ Conclusion
At ECHG, we believe true discipleship is shown in how we uplift those around us. The Community Transformation Ministry reminds us that the Gospel is not only spoken from the pulpit but lived in the fields, in savings groups, in kitchens, and in shared meals.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Together, as one community, we are building a healthier, stronger, and more hopeful Bulenga—through love, faith, and the power of Christ at work in us.
